Job Description

Pasea Hotel & Spa is offering an exciting Culinary Apprenticeship Internship designed for current

students enrolled in Saddleback College's culinary arts program, in partnership with DIAG USA. This paid, part-time opportunity allows emerging culinary professionals to gain hands-on experience in either Banquets or Restaurant Operations, while receiving structured mentorship and skill development from an award-winning kitchen team.

This internship supports Pasea's commitment to cultivating culinary talent, creating educational access, and developing a strong internal pipeline for future kitchen leadership.

Interested candidates should apply through their Saddleback College internship coordinator or DIAG USA representative. Finalists will participate in an interview with Pasea's culinary leadership team.

What You Will Accomplish
Work under the direct supervision of experienced chefs to support daily kitchen operations in assigned area (Banquets or Restaurant).
Assist in food preparation, mise en place, and service execution according to Pasea's culinary standards.
Rotate through prep stations, cold line, hot line, and plating support depending on department needs.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and kitchen cleanliness protocols.
Participate in catered events, banquet functions, and high-volume restaurant service.
Track skill progression weekly based on Saddleback's curriculum objectives.
Receive and incorporate feedback from Chef Mentors during regular evaluations.
Maintain a positive, team-focused attitude and commitment to continuous learning.

What You Will Bring

Paid, part-time role with flexible scheduling aligned to the academic calendar. Gain hands-on experience in luxury hospitality kitchens, mentored by Paséa's Executive Chef and culinary leaders. Bi-monthly reviews track culinary milestones, with potential for full-time employment. Develop skills in banquet execution, fine dining plating, and volume service.

Current Food Handlers Card or willingness and ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment

QUALIFICATIONS TO APPlY
Current enrollment in the Culinary Arts Program at Saddleback College.
Eligible to work in the U.S. and approved for internship placement via DIAG USA.
Availability to work 20-24 hours per week, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.
Strong passion for culinary arts and hospitality service.
Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced, professional kitchen.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and time management skills.
