Assignment Details
• Start/end: As soon as credentialed; ongoing
• Schedule: 8am-5pm with 1-hour unpaid lunch
• Coverage type: Scheduled endoscopy; no call
• Volume: Upper endoscopy 30 min; colonoscopy 30 min; combined procedures 60 min
• Setting: Outpatient Gastroenterology/endoscopy
• Support: Most cases use physician/nurse-administered moderate sedation; occasional anesthesiology support
• EMR: Epic
• Credentialing: 60-90 days; no temporary privileges
Clinical Details
• Required scope: Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal and control of bleeding
• Required scope: Lower GI endoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy
• Required scope: Colonoscopy with biopsy and polypectomy
• Required scope: Small bowel biopsy
• Must be comfortable administering moderate sedation without routine anesthesiology support
• Preferred: Esophageal dilation/manometry, manometry interpretation and rigid sigmoidoscopy
• ERCP and EUS not required
Requirements
• Gastroenterology board certification required; minimum board status to be confirmed
• Gastroenterology fellowship training
• License: MD or IMLC
• ACLS and BLS
• Active DEA
Compensation
• Rate negotiable, open to your number
• Malpractice provided
