JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: Y-MD- Profession: Physician Specialty: Gastroenterology Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Charleston, WV Service Setting: Hospital Coverage Type: Clinical + Call Coverage Period: Jan 04, 2027 Jul 05, 2027 Clinical Shift Schedule: 8-hour shifts, days with night call coverage (7 on / 7 off) On-Call Shift Schedule: Nights (during call weeks) Call Ratio: 7 on / 7 off COVERAGE DATES PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adults (18+), Geriatrics (average age 58) Case Mix: General Gastroenterology FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Cerner Support Staff Available: 9 APPs, several RNs, many LPNs and MAs Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Temporary Privileges Available: Yes (IMLC/WV temp license) Credentialing Timeline: 60+ days REQUIRED PROCEDURES General GI Hospitalist procedures (EGD, Colonoscopy, etc.) JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active WV license or Universal License (IMLC) Board: BC/BE in Gastroenterology DEA: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Experience: Open DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide general gastroenterology consultative services in a hospital setting. Perform endoscopic procedures (EGD, Colonoscopy) as needed. Manage inpatients with gastrointestinal conditions. Participate in call coverage on a 7 on / 7 off schedule, including night call. Collaborate with support staff (APPs, RNs, MAs) across multiple GI locations.
