Our client in Montana is seeking a dedicated Forensic Psychiatrist for a 120-day assignment. This role involves comprehensive medication management for long-stabilized patients, handling complex psychiatric cases, and preparing status reports for judges. The schedule offers flexibility with options for 4x10s or 5x8s, totaling 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, focusing on high-acuity patient care.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide medication management for long-stabilized patients, often requiring one to three different psychotic medications.
- Manage complex and challenging psychiatric cases, representing some of the most severely ill patients in the state.
- Prepare and write status reports for judges when required; no other court-related documentation is expected.
- Patient stays typically range from three months to over a year.
- Focus on primary patient care for general psychiatry, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and bipolar disorder.
- Address cases where a significant majority (90%) of patients present with personality disorders.
