Gastroenterology Physician

This full-time Gastroenterology locum tenens assignment at Highlands ARH Regional Medical Center (184-bed acute care hospital) in Prestonsburg, KY combines weekday clinic coverage (Mon Fri, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM) with a mix of inpatient consults/rounding, procedural work, and call responsibilities. The provider will deliver adult GI care across both outpatient and inpatient settings, including ERCP, EGD, colonoscopies, and other standard procedures, with OR time typically 2 3 days per week. Call runs 7:00 AM 7:00 AM with 1 2 hours of morning rounding and averages 10 call shifts per month, requiring both day coverage and night call plus onsite orientation. Clinic volume is approximately patients/day (15- and 30-minute slots), procedural volume averages OR cases/day (lower with higher complexity), and support includes 1 NP, 1 MA, and 1 clinic clerk; there is also potential for a permanent role longer-term.
