Staff RN - Medical Unit 1, Part-time

OhioHealth

Columbus, Ohio

Job description

We are more than a health system. We are a belief system. We believe wellness and sickness are both part of a lifelong partnership, and that everyone could use an expert guide. We work hard, care deeply and reach further to help people uncover their own power to be healthy. We inspire hope. We learn, grow, and achieve more - in our careers and in our communities.

Job Description Summary:

We are excited to deliver our innovative comprehensive team approach to patient care. We have a comprehensive charge nurse, a pharmacist, a transition of care nurse, a resident, and a physician who round on each patient every day from 8 am to 11 am. All patients are seen by the same hospitalist on the floor. Our physicians are a part of the Central Ohio Primary Care Hospitalist group and the same physician rounds on the unit for a week at a time and switches off. The unit consists of medical surgical patients. We also have 4 beds that we utilize as "Long Stay" beds. These beds are filled by patients who have a difficult disposition and require a longer length of stay. There are specific criteria these patients have to meet to be eligible for one of these beds. We utilize RN's and LPN's, each taking their own patient assignment with support from our Patient Support Assistants (PSAs). Our model of care allows for unique opportunity to impact throughput of patients and pilot innovative ideas for patient care.
