What You ll Do
- Provide primary obstetric and gynecologic call coverage for inpatient and emergency department patients.
- Evaluate and manage antepartum patients, including low- and high-risk pregnancies.
- Manage labor and delivery, including routine vaginal deliveries, operative deliveries, cesarean sections, breech and multiple births, abruptions, and VBACs.
- Interpret fetal monitoring, including NST, CST, and FSE.
- Perform and manage emergent gynecologic procedures, including open surgery, ectopic pregnancy treatment, oophorectomy, cystectomy, extensive lysis of adhesions, and suction D&C.
- Repair third- and fourth-degree lacerations and manage cesarean complications, including hysterectomy.
- Round daily and coordinate care with Labor & Delivery nurses, anesthesia, and other clinical staff.
What You Need
Required - Colorado medical license or IMLC eligibility, with Colorado licensure application completed at acceptance if applicable
- Ability to cover the full scheduled call periods
- Experience managing obstetric and gynecologic emergencies
- Experience with labor and delivery, high-risk pregnancy, cesarean delivery, and gynecologic surgery
- Ability to use the EPIC electronic medical record
Preferred - Recent experience in a Level III Trauma and NICU setting
- Experience with primary call coverage
About the Assignment
This inpatient locum assignment is based at a leading facility in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with a 12-bed Labor & Delivery unit, approximately 60 deliveries per month, onsite laboratory and ultrasound services, in-house anesthesia, and an Obstetric Emergency Department. The facility is fully staffed with Labor & Delivery nurses and uses EPIC.
