This Hematology-Oncology Locum Tenens position is located in Kentucky Location: Southeastern Kentucky (Inquire for specific hospital location) Duration: January 2027 December 2027Reason for coverage: TBDSchedule: 23 weeks per month. Clinic MondayFriday, 8a4:30p, no regular weekend hoursCall: TuesdayTuesday, including weekends. Mostly phone calls with questions; callbacks to the hospital are very rareVolume: 1522 patients per day (follow-ups and new patients), with 1520 new Hem/Onc consults per week depending on referrals. Inpatient rounding about 12 hours per day depending on loadScope: Adult hematology and oncology only, no pediatrics. Typically more hematology than oncology, though the mix varies month to month. Outpatient and inpatient, with hospital rounding supported by a midlevel. Admissions come mostly through the ER, with few direct admits from clinic. Tumor Board participation expected (present only as needed). Blood bank on-site. Bone marrow biopsies done by IR.
