Join a high-performing emergency medicine team at a community hospital in Ashtabula, Ohio, near Lake Erie and about 60 miles from Cleveland. We are seeking an experienced, motivated Assistant Medical Director to support clinical leadership, operational excellence, and team development. The role offers a balanced mix of clinical practice and leadership in a growing, well-supported ED that sees about 27,000 visits a year.
ABOUT THE FACILITY
The 105-bed community hospital is affiliated with a nationally recognized health system and is accredited as both a Chest Pain Center and a Primary Stroke Center. Its new patient care tower houses a state-of-the-art emergency department.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
- Annual ED volume: approximately 27,000 visits (about 2.1 patients per hour)
- Acuity: medium-high; admission rate approximately 13%
- 24 hours of physician coverage and 20 hours of APC coverage daily
- Physician shifts: 12 hours (7am-7pm, 7pm-7am)
- APC shifts: 11am-11pm and 11am-7pm
- EMR: Epic
COMPENSATION
- $220/hour for day shifts
- $240/hour for night shifts
- Independent contractor (1099) position
- Sign-on bonus available
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Board certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM)
- Prior leadership experience preferred but not required
- Strong clinical and customer service skills, with interest in operations, quality, and team development
- A collaborative communicator ready to grow into expanded leadership responsibilities
- Active Ohio medical license
