What You ll Do
- Examine adult patients, formulate diagnoses, and develop treatment plans.
- Provide technical, clinical, and surgical support in cardiothoracic surgery.
- Serve as a first assist during cardiac surgery procedures in the CVOR.
- Perform endoscopic saphenous vein and radial artery harvests.
- Place and remove chest tubes, catheters, central lines, and arterial lines.
- Perform intubation and extubation as part of patient care.
- Document patient progress and surgical care in Epic.
What You Need
Required: - Active Physician Assistant license
- Board certification
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- DEA registration
- 1 2 years of cardiothoracic surgery experience
- At least 1 year of first-assist experience in a cardiac surgery CVOR setting
- Ability to participate in a potential call rotation
Preferred: - Robotic lung surgery experience
