This 974-bed academic medical center is one of only four academic medical centers in North Carolina and serves as the primary teaching hospital for a major School of Medicine. The facility is a Level I Trauma Center serving a 29-county region of more than 1.4 million people and holds numerous prestigious awards and accreditations, including Magnet designation, Comprehensive Stroke Center certification, and recognition as a 2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospital for Maternity Care.

Opportunity:
MD, DO - Hospitalist, Internal Medicine

Job Details:

• Join an established hospitalist service within a growing 9-hospital, physician-led healthcare system
• New graduates will be considered for this opportunity
• Employment with hospital privileges at a 974-bed Level I trauma center
• Work alongside an established team of 42 physicians and 32 advanced practice providers
• 7 on / 7 off schedule, 7a-7p (Tuesday-Monday)
• No ICU responsibilities - closed ICUs
• No on-call requirements
• Average patient volume of 16-18 patients per provider
• Clinical responsibilities include rounding, admissions, discharges, and consults
• No required procedures
• EPIC EMR system utilized
• Moonlighting opportunities available across 9 hospital sites
• Opportunities for teaching, quality improvement, and leadership development
• Excellent mentorship and team collaboration environment
• BE/BC Internal Medicine required
