Urology Physician

We are seeking a board-certified Urology Physician for a year-long locum tenens job providing weekend call coverage for adult urology patients in Thomasville, NC. Support hospital-based inpatient consultations and emergency department needs while enjoying the welcoming North Carolina Piedmont, with convenient access to Greensboro and Winston-Salem.

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $6,390-$7,570
• Start Date: February 1, 2027
• Duration: Approximately 12 months, with coverage needed for at least one year
• Schedule: Weekend call coverage three weekends per month
• Call Period: Friday at 7:00 a.m. through Monday at 7:00 a.m.
• Call Structure: Available by phone and able to respond to hospital needs within 20 minutes
• Expected Volume: Approximately five patient encounters per shift
• Practice Setting: Hospital-based urology service
• Location: Thomasville, North Carolina, near Greensboro and Winston-Salem

• Medical degree (MD) and eligibility to practice as a physician
• At least one year of clinical experience in general adult urology
• Board certification in Urology is required
• Current or eligible North Carolina medical licensure
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to remain within 20 minutes of the hospital during assigned call periods
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills for consultative and emergency urology care

• Provide weekend call coverage for adult urology patients three weekends each month
• Remain available by telephone throughout assigned call periods
• Respond promptly to inpatient floor consultations and emergency department urology needs
• Evaluate patients, establish diagnoses, and recommend or initiate appropriate treatment plans
• Collaborate with hospital-based physicians, clinicians, and care teams to support timely, high-quality urologic care
• Document patient assessments, consultations, and treatment recommendations accurately
