Fleet Manager (Trucking) - Woodbridge, NJ

We need a fleet manager who leads, not a wrench-turner. You will own truck readiness and compliance for a trucking fleet and hold drivers and vendors to a standard.

What you will do
Keep every truck legal and safe: review driver inspection defects, run your own inspections, and close defects when repairs are done
Prioritize repairs: safety and DOT first, then anything that affects operations, then preventive maintenance, then minor repairs
Run the tire program and prevent tire-depth and out-of-service violations before roadside inspections
Schedule PMs, DOT inspections, quarterly inspections and registrations
Coordinate repair shops, towing and vendors, and control repair spend
Handle breakdowns and truck swaps with drivers; keep unsafe trucks parked until fixed
Train new drivers and hold drivers accountable on inspections and follow-through
Report to ownership weekly: open problems, what is coming due, trucks out of service

To apply, text answers to these questions
1. How many trucks have you managed, and for how many years?
2. Describe your process to prevent tire-depth violations before roadside inspections.
3. Give one example of preventing a CSA or out-of-service issue.
4. Two references (name, company, phone).
