The VA Augusta Health Care System is seeking an experienced, board-certified physician to serve as Chief of Geriatrics & Extended Care (GEC) in Augusta, Georgia.

This executive physician leadership opportunity offers the ability to oversee comprehensive geriatric and extended care services, advance clinical excellence, and enhance the quality of life for aging Veterans.

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight of Geriatrics & Extended Care services.

• Lead and mentor physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

• Oversee clinical operations, quality improvement, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.

• Support programs focused on long-term care, rehabilitation, palliative care, and aging Veterans.

• Collaborate with executive leadership to enhance access to care, operational efficiency, and patient outcomes.

• Support physician recruitment, professional development, and retention initiatives.

• Advance innovative, patient-centered approaches to geriatric care.

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.

• Board certification in an appropriate medical specialty.

• Geriatric Medicine experience or fellowship training preferred.

• Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory.

• Demonstrated clinical leadership and administrative experience preferred.
