Job ID: 66534 Client: TN DOH Position: Nurse Practitioner Location: 101 Okolona Drive, Erwin, TN 37650 Duration: 6+ Months (Possibility of Extension) Working Days: Weekly 2 days (Monday and Thursday) Timings: 8 AM to 4:30PM Position Summary This position entails the provision of primary care clinical services for uninsured adults as well as provision of clinical services under the auspices of Public Health programs such as Family Planning Program, Breast and Cervical Program, and Communicable Disease Program. The nurse practitioner in this position will provide clinical assessment, diagnosis, and development of plan of care, including prescribing medications and long-term patient care management for patients with acute and chronic disease. The nurse practitioner will also provide preventive health screenings, patient education and harm reduction education, and office-based procedures as authorized. Employee will regularly collaborate with local support staff to provide patient care and navigation. We do not prescribe controlled substances. Duties and Responsibilities: Deliver primary care clinical services to uninsured adults. Deliver wellness/preventive and contraceptive care to eligible patients. Deliver clinical screening and treatment of communicable diseases, including sexually transmitted diseases and Hepatitis C. Promote disease prevention via patient education and ACIP recommended immunizations. Follow health department guidelines, protocols, and program recommendations. Follow professional development directives from the TN Board of Nursing. Participate in county and regional based activities as requested by county and regional supervisors. Education Requirements and Qualifications: Master of Science or Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree in Nursing with Family Nurse Practitioner specialty focus. Hold and maintain valid, unrestricted State of Tennessee Advanced Practice Registered Nursing and Registered Nursing licenses. Hold and maintain valid certification as Family Nurse Practitioner from national credentialing organizations such as ANCC or AANP. Primary care experience preferred.
