CFS Drafter & Detailer/BIM Modeler (In-Office)

Advanced Consulting Engineers (ACE-P.A.) is a Frederick, MD based structural engineering firm that is growing and seeking a candidate to fill a Technical Drafter/BIM Modeler role.

Qualified candidates are required to possess vast knowledge and experience in MWF/Vertex & Revit. Candidate MUST have a minimum of two to three years of work experience. Candidates MUST also demonstrate strong communication skills, interest, knowledge of BIM technologies, and have an understanding of building construction. Our firm offers a busy yet relaxed working environment with a diverse client base.

This individual will collaborate with project teams on structural engineering initiatives and will be accountable to assist in the creation of CFS shop drawings and structural engineering construction documents for our clients utilizing MWF/Vertex and BIM modeling software. All work will be conducted under the supervision of the Project Manager. The candidate is responsible for assisting project teams in creating high-level project drawings and models and MUST communicate effectively with design team members and clients. This individual should have strong communication and coordination skills, be self-motivated and detail-oriented, and possess the ability to deliver high quality, technically accurate shop drawings and structural drawings on time. Hot rolled structural steel detailing is a plus.

Responsibilities:

Create Cold-Formed Steel (CFS) Shop Drawings & Details

Create 3-D models for use in structural construction documentation

Document and annotate 2-D plans, sections, and details generated from 3-D models

Coordinate models and workflow between members of the design team

Support project teams in creating high-level project drawings & models

Contribute to project-specific QA/QC efforts

Requirements and Qualifications:

Associates degree preferred in relevant Construction/Engineering related field (BIM or Drafting Technology) or Certifications in Revit is acceptable

A minimum of 2 to 3 years of work experience is preferred

Goal-Oriented and driven to improve

Knowledge and experience in MWF or Vertex detailing software is REQUIRED

Knowledge and experience in the use of Revit to create structural drawings is required

Knowledge of Revit Family creation/maintenance is a plus

Understanding of basic engineering/construction principles

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to read and understand engineering and architectural drawings

Knowledge of other products in Autodesk Portfolio is beneficial

Compensation: Competitive salary - commensurate with directly related experience.

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year (Salary to commensurate with experience)
