Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Automation Technician to join our growing team. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, installing, commissioning, and servicing commercial HVAC building automation and control systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with DDC controls, HVAC equipment, and building automation systems in commercial or institutional environments.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and service HVAC control systems and related equipment
- Install and terminate DDC controllers, control wiring, relays, and communication networks
- Work within Niagara AX/N4 platforms and building automation systems
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and control submittals
- Troubleshoot communication and network issues
- Assist with controller startup, commissioning, and sequence verification
- Maintain accurate service documentation
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of HVAC controls or automation experience preferred
- Experience with Alerton, Distech, Siemens, or similar control systems preferred
- Strong troubleshooting skills with HVAC systems and controls
- Experience with VFDs, pumps, central plants, flow meters, and relay logic
- Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, and/or LonWorks communication protocols
- Programming and graphics experience preferred
- Experience using Niagara Workbench preferred
- Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass background screening for work in schools and hospitals
- High school diploma or GED required
Preferred Certifications
- Niagara AX or N4 Certification
