Welder - MIG / Spot Welding
Location: Lawrenceville, GA
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Welder to join our metal fabrication team. This position involves welding and fabricating aluminum and steel sheet metal components using MIG, spot welding, and potentially TIG techniques. The ideal candidate can read blueprints, produce quality welds, and maintain accuracy while working with thin sheet metal.
Responsibilities
- Operate MIG, spot-welding, and other welding equipment according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
- Prepare, align, and secure parts before welding.
- Produce consistent, high-quality welds while minimizing warping and material waste.
- Inspect finished welds and assemblies for quality and accuracy.
- Grind, finish, and repair welds as needed.
- Use measuring tools, including calipers and squares.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of welding experience.
- Proficiency in MIG and spot welding; TIG experience is a plus.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret weld symbols.
- Experience welding aluminum and steel, preferably thin sheet metal.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to pass a welding test.
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- AWS D1.2 aluminum welding certification preferred; AWS D1.1 steel certification is a plus.
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively with a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a fabrication shop environment while wearing required protective equipment.
