- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to manage urgent surgical and call-related needs
Cardiothoracic Surgeon Responsibilities
- Provide cardiothoracic surgery consultation and coverage during scheduled call periods
- Respond to urgent cardiovascular surgical needs during 24-hour call coverage
- Evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams
- Perform or oversee appropriate cardiothoracic surgical procedures within the physician's scope of practice
- Document assessments, procedures, and follow-up care in the Expanse electronic medical record
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and referring clinicians
