Locums - Denver, Colorado, Nocturnist Opening
Clinical RoleRecruitWell is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible physician for an ongoing Nocturnist opportunity in Denver, Colorado. This role is focused primarily on overnight admissions in a large hospital setting with extensive specialty support and a closed ICU.
Assignment Details
Start: December 2026
Ongoing through approximately August-September 2027
7-on / 7-off schedule preferred, but not required
Flexible availability may be considered based on open dates
Clinical Details & Responsibilities
Provide overnight admission coverage
Approximately 8-10 admissions per shift
Limited overnight consult volume
No cross coverage
No response to rapid responses or codes
No procedures required
ICU is closed
Trauma Surgery is primary on trauma cases
Support & Practice Environment
Approximately 520 beds
Additional Nocturnist coverage from 5:00 PM - 5:00 AM
Additional Nocturnist typically manages approximately 4-6 admissions and cross coverage
APP Nocturnist primarily manages cross coverage and may assist with 1-2 straightforward admissions or consults during exceptionally busy nights
Broad in-house specialty support available
Tele-Dermatology available
Typical exceptions to in-house specialty coverage include Rheumatology, Endocrinology, and Dermatology
Standard hospital nursing and ancillary support available
Orientation
EMR training provided
Shadow day included
Requirements
Board Certified or Board Eligible required
2 or more years of experience preferredMust have Colorado Licensure
Must be comfortable managing admissions independently in a high-volume hospital environment
