Job description

Social Worker - Intensive Outpatient Clinic Job Summary University of Utah Health is seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC) to join the Intensive Outpatient Clinic (IOC), a team-based clinic serving individuals with complex medical and psychosocial needs. This is not a traditional outpatient behavioral health role focused on billing volume. The IOC operates within a value-based Medicaid model in partnership with University of Utah Health Plans. Our interdisciplinary team brings together medical providers, behavioral health clinicians, care coordinators, and other clinic staff to deliver integrated, whole-person care designed to improve health outcomes and reduce avoidable emergency department visits, hospitalizations, and total cost of care. In 2023, the IOC was recognized by Governor Spencer Cox's One Utah Health Collaborative for innovation in comprehensive care delivery. The clinic was also featured in the Sundance Film Festival short film Meet Me Where I Am, which highlights the impact of person-centered, integrated care. Our Approach The IOC provides comprehensive, integrated care for patients with complex medical and psychosocial needs. The clinic is part of the University of Utah Population Health Center and works closely with primary care, behavioral health, care management, dental services, dermatology, pediatrics, and other programs to support coordinated care.
