Sumo Medical Staffing is recruiting for an experienced Infectious Disease Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work locum shifts in Greensboro, North Carolina (NC). Starting ASAP for on-going weekday clinic coverage (no call).
The Infectious Disease NP/PA role:
Location: Greensboro, North Carolina (NC)
Coverage Dates: ASAP on-going
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, eight-hour shifts, with a half day Friday; standard daytime hours listed as 7:00 AM-3:00 PM
Call: No call
Practice Details:
- Outpatient infectious disease practice, with hospital rounding and consultation duties also listed
- Adult patient population
- Approximately 12-15 patients per day; census varies
- Support from RNs, a CMA, and a physician
- Five days per week of coverage needed
- Orientation: 16 non-billable hours
- Credentialing timeframe: 60-90 days
- EMR: Epic
Required Skills / Procedures:
- Recent experience caring for patients with HIV and confidence managing their care
- Evaluation and management of complex infections, including sepsis, osteomyelitis, and endocarditis
- Hospital rounding and infectious disease consultations
- In-office physical assessments, medical history reviews, and interpretation of diagnostic results
- Preventive health screenings based on patient history and individual needs
- Patient and family education regarding conditions, treatment, and follow-up
- Office-based specialty procedures within clinical scope
- Accurate documentation and participation in outpatient quality improvement
Requirements:
- Active North Carolina NP or PA license required; candidates needing state licensure are not accepted
- Board Certified
- DEA required
- BLS certification from AHA
- Minimum three years of experience
- Recent HIV patient care experience required
