Job Title: Welder: Class A and Class B
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Welder Class a and B to join our team in Anderson, SC. This role is responsible for welding machinery components during the manufacturing process while maintaining high-quality standards using welding equipment, measuring tools, and hand/power tools and blueprint reading.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality welding on complex machinery and components
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and fabrication plans
- Fit and weld complex materials, shapes, and assemblies
- Operate welding equipment, precision measuring tools, and hand/power tools
- Perform visual inspections and quality checks on completed welds
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to resolve issues
- Design and build jigs and fixtures for welding processes
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts to move materials
- Perform basic maintenance on welding equipment
Additional Responsibilities
- Work effectively in a team environment
- Assist with training and mentoring less experienced welders
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
QualificationsRequired:
- Strong welding skills with experience in multiple welding processes. Steel welding
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings
- Proficiency with measuring tools and fabrication equipment
- Solid math skills, including geometry
- Experience working in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
Preferred:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Welding certification from a technical school
- 5+ years of experience in a welding or fabrication shop (class A)
- 3+ years of experience in a welding or fab shop (class B)
- Experience with machining, fabrication, and precision measurement tools
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Occasional climbing, kneeling, and reaching
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
