What You ll Do
- Provide Gastroenterology hospital and procedural coverage.
- Perform EGD, colonoscopy, pH studies, manometry, and sigmoidoscopy.
- Place PEG and PEG-J tubes.
- Review pathology results and communicate follow-up recommendations to nursing staff for patient notification.
- Complete patient charting and documentation independently.
- Manage overnight and weekend call responsibilities.
- Care for an average of approximately 12 patients per day in a four-room Endoscopy Unit.
What You Need
Required - Active Michigan medical license.
- Gastroenterology experience in hospital and procedural settings.
- Experience performing EGD and colonoscopy.
- Competence with applicable patient evaluation, procedure documentation, pathology review, and follow-up communication.
- Availability for the complete requested coverage blocks.
Preferred - Experience with ERCP and EUS.
- Experience with PEG/PEG-J tube placement, pH studies, manometry, sigmoidoscopy, hydrogen breath testing, or capsule endoscopy.
- Familiarity with Paragon and EndoPro EMR systems.
