AV & Technology Systems Technician

Job Responsibilities:

• Install and terminate low voltage cabling including network cable, audio/video, access control and related systems wiring
• Install network equipment, patch panels, racks, and related equipment
• Install equipment including security cameras, wireless access points, video recorders, data racks and hardware.
• Install computers, printers, phones, audiovisual equipment, and related peripherals at customer sites
• Respond to helpdesk tickets for general IT support needs
• Troubleshoot IP cameras, recorders, AV systems and related technology
• Assist with ordering, shipping and staging of new equipment and repairs.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment and keep company vehicle, tools and equipment organized and in good working order
• Keep stock room and tool room organized and in good order
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to properly install structured cabling and provide proper cabling termination and testing
• Familiarity with power tools, ability to securely attach equipment to walls, ceilings and floors
• Basic understanding of networking principals and TCP/IP
• Familiarity with current Windows operating systems
• Ability to work as a team and lead projects support calls without assistance
• Willingness to learn, grow and move the organization forward
• Ability to independently troubleshoot issues, document problems and arrive at a solution
• Understanding of audiovisual equipment and telephony including displays, projectors, basic audio systems, voip phones and analog phones.
• Ability to commute to our New Holland office with travel to clients within our operating area in company vehicle and your own vehicle (milage is reimbursed)
• This job operates largely at customer sites in environments protected from outside weather conditions but is exposed to varying temperatures and environmental conditions in some client job locations.
• The role is subject to occasional hazards including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
• This role requires the ability to lift and move objects up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• This role requires close visual acuity and use of limbs to climb, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, finger, and grasp objects of varying size and texture. Standing and walking for short periods of time and both hearing and talking abilities are required.
