Job Description:
AgState is currently seeking a motivated Feed Truck Driver to join our Feed Department. As a Tandem Feed Truck Driver, you will play a crucial role in delivering feed goods to our customers while upholding the highest standards of customer service and safety. This position offers a great opportunity for individuals interested in a stable career in agriculture, with flexible work hours, outstanding benefits, and to be home every day. This role will have approximately hours of 50 to 60 in the winter, sometimes more with winter conditions but will have less hours in the summer due to demand from animals. This position will include some manual labor.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills while interacting with customers and collaborating with co-workers and other departments within AgState.
- Drive a truck to deliver feed goods to customers.
- Perform regular maintenance checks on the truck and conduct daily pre-trip inspections.
- Schedule maintenance with appropriate personnel.
- Load and unload the truck efficiently.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle in accordance with AgState's image.
- Assist with other locations as needed.
- Be a team player.
- Work in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to AgState's Safety Policy.
Qualifications
- Meet the physical and medical requirements set by the Department of Transportation (DOT).
- Demonstrate the ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds from the floor to a height of 48 inches.
- Exhibit a high level of attention to detail.
- Be prepared, if necessary, to wear a respirator.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Must have and maintain a valid Class B CDL, but will accept drivers with a Class A CDL.
- 1-2 years of driving experience preferred, but willing to train.
- No restrictions - can drive manual transmission.
