Surgery - Cardiovascular Physician

Seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Cardiothoracic Surgeon for weekend hospital coverage at a 163-bed facility.

• Hospital-based practice

• Adult patient population (18+)

• APP support available

• EPIC EMR

• Approximately 3 weekends of coverage per month

• No TAVR procedures

• 24-hour call coverage

• Friday at 12:00 PM through Monday at 7:00 AM

• Average callback, including rounding: 2 4 hours per day

• Current coverage dates:

  • January 22 at 12:00 PM through January 25 at 7:00 AM

  • February 12 at 12:00 PM through February 15 at 7:00 AM

• Provide weekend cardiothoracic surgery coverage.

• Handle urgent surgical cases, including patients transferred from the cath lab to surgery.

• Perform consultations and provide surgical management.

• Stable patients may wait until Monday for surgery, as clinically appropriate.

• Patients may be managed from ICU through discharge home.

• A surgeon is available for backup following consultation.

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiac Surgery

• Active Pennsylvania medical license

• DEA registration required

• Minimum of 1 year of experience

• EPIC experience

• Credentialing timeframe: approximately 60 days

• Temporary privileges available for candidates with a clean credentialing file
