Diesel Mechanic - Heavy Truck Fleet
Genoa, OH $25-$35/hr Full-Time
If you're a diesel mechanic who can turn a wrench, chase down a problem, and keep older equipment running, this is worth a look.
We're hiring a hands-on mechanic to maintain and repair a fleet of heavy-duty diesel trucks and fleet equipment. A lot of the fleet is older, so you'll need to know your way around diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and troubleshooting - not just swapping parts and sending it out the door.
You'll handle most repairs in-house and keep the trucks ready to roll.
What You'll Be Doing
- Diagnose and repair heavy-duty diesel trucks and related fleet equipment.
- Troubleshoot diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical issues.
- Handle PMs, inspections, DOT-related maintenance, and general fleet upkeep.
- Track down problems with pumps, plumbing, and truck-mounted spray systems as needed. No sprayer experience required.
- Replace worn or failed components, verify repairs, and get equipment back in service.
- Handle basic welding and fabrication when repairs call for it.
- Keep service records current and the shop in good working order.
What You Bring
- 2+ years of diesel mechanic or heavy truck repair experience.
- Solid diagnostic skills and the ability to work through a problem without throwing parts at it.
- Experience working on older equipment and making sound repair decisions.
- A good working knowledge of diesel engines, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- A valid driver's license and a safety-first mindset.
Pay & Benefits
- $25-$35 per hour, based on experience.
- Day shift, 7:30am-4:00pm (Monday to Friday)
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance, with multiple plan options and HSA contributions.
- Flexible PTO.
- 401(k) with employer match.
- Life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and additional wellness benefits.
If you take pride in diagnosing problems properly, doing the repair right, and keeping equipment working instead of sitting in the shop, let's talk.
