Senior Property Accountant
$85,000 - $95,000 annually
Hybrid Schedule (2-3 Days Onsite Per Week)

Hire Connections is recruiting on behalf of our client, a growing property management organization, seeking an experienced Senior Property Accountant to oversee a portfolio of residential properties. This role is responsible for full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, budgeting support, audit preparation, variance analysis, and process improvement initiatives while partnering closely with property management and leadership teams.
Responsibilities:
- Perform full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of residential properties
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, prepaid schedules, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare monthly financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
- Analyze budget-to-actual variances and provide financial recommendations
- Ensure accuracy of general ledger activity and compliance with GAAP
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and year-end audit activities
- Monitor cash balances and assist with cash management functions
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and capital expenditure tracking
- Collaborate with property management and leadership teams regarding financial performance
- Assist with process improvements, internal controls, and accounting best practices
- Mentor and support junior accounting staff as needed
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of property management, real estate, or multifamily accounting experience
- Experience with Yardi Voyager required
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accrual-based accounting
- Experience preparing financial statements and managing month-end close processes
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and audit support
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience mentoring or training accounting staff
- Experience developing accounting procedures, workflows, and internal controls
- Multifamily residential property accounting experience
