Warehouse / Delivery Driver (Short-Term)
A South Seattle stone slab supplier is hiring a short-term Warehouse / Delivery Driver. You will spend 3 days a week in the warehouse handling granite, quartz and marble slabs, and 2 days delivering slabs to fabricators and job sites in a non-commercial (non-CDL) flatbed truck.
Compensation: $25 per hour
Schedule: Day Shift
This is a short term contract expected to last no more than 30 days
Warehouse Duties (3 days/week)
Receive, unload and inspect incoming stone slabs and materials
Move and stage slabs safely using forklifts, overhead cranes, slab clamps and A-frame racks
Organize inventory by material, color, lot and size; keep slab tags and records accurate
Pull, prep and load orders for delivery and customer pickup
Help customers and fabricators view and select slabs in the yard
Keep the warehouse and yard clean, organized and safe
Report damaged slabs, equipment issues and safety hazards
Delivery Duties (2 days/week)
Drive a non-commercial flatbed truck to deliver slabs to fabrication shops, contractors and job sites across the Seattle area
Load and secure slabs on A-frames using straps, padding and proper tie-down methods
Plan routes and keep to delivery schedules
Unload slabs safely at the delivery site and get signed delivery confirmations
Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and log any issues
Keep the truck clean and report maintenance needs
Represent the company professionally with customers
Requirements
Valid Washington State driver's license (no CDL required)
DOT Medical Card - must have one, or be able to obtain one before the first delivery shift
Clean driving record; must pass a motor vehicle record (MVR) check
1+ year of warehouse, yard or material handling experience
Forklift experience; current forklift certification preferred
Experience driving a flatbed, box truck or similar large vehicle preferred
Experience handling stone, glass, lumber or other heavy or fragile materials is a plus
Reliable, punctual and safety-minded
Able to pass a background check and drug screen
Must be at least 21 years old for insurance purposes
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Lift, push and pull up to 75 lbs; slab moves are done as a team or with equipment
Stand, walk, bend and climb in and out of the truck throughout the day
Work outdoors and in a non-climate-controlled warehouse in all weather
Wear required PPE: steel-toe boots, gloves, safety glasses and high-visibility vest
