CDL DRIVER
Drives company trucks and reel trailers supporting the cable removal crews - hauling recovered cable, equipment, and materials between job sites, the yard, and the recycler - and works with the crew on the ground between runs.
Duties
- Operate company trucks and trailers safely and legally, including hookup, load securement, and maneuvering on job sites.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections (DVIR) every day and report defects the same day.
- Secure every load: recovered cable contained and labeled, cut ends wrapped, nothing loose, nothing riding in the cab.
- Follow all DOT rules: hours of service, medical card current, and full participation in the company drug and alcohol testing program.
- Deliver loads only where the paperwork says, and bring back weight tickets and receipts.
- Help the crew on the ground between runs - rigging, loading, and site cleanup as directed by the foreman.
- Report every incident, ticket, breakdown, and near miss to the foreman. No exceptions.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL and current DOT medical card.
- Clean driving record.
- Pass a DOT pre-employment drug test and FMCSA Clearinghouse query before driving.
- Experience hauling trailers and securing loads preferred.
- Able to work 12-hour shifts, overtime, and weekends as the job requires.
