Thorne's Tree Service is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Driver/Operator to join our team. This position plays a vital role in supporting our land restoration and right-of-way operations by safely transporting equipment and operating heavy machinery at job sites.
The Driver/Operator is responsible for hauling equipment to and from project locations, operating specialized equipment such as skid steers and other forestry or land-clearing machinery, and assisting crew members as needed. This position requires strong attention to safety, mechanical awareness, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. If you have operating experience but no CDL, we will help the right candidate obtain one.

The field employees are members of Local Unions 53 and 304.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate CDL-class vehicles and transport equipment
- Load, secure, and unload heavy machinery
- Operate skid steers, tractors, and other land-clearing equipment
- Perform daily vehicle and equipment inspections
- Follow all DOT, company, and safety regulations
- Assist with land restoration and right-of-way clearing as needed
- Maintain clean and organized equipment and work areas
Requirements
- Valid CDL (Class A or B preferred)
- Experience operating heavy equipment (forestry or utility experience a plus)
- Strong commitment to safety
- Ability to work outdoors and perform physical labor
- Dependable, team-oriented, and self-motivated
