HVAC Sheet Metal Foreman
Atlantic Pacific Standard, LLC (APS) is seeking an experienced HVAC Sheet Metal Foreman to lead commercial and government HVAC sheet metal projects. This is a hands-on leadership position for an experienced professional who can effectively supervise field crews while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, productivity, and schedule performance.
Position Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate HVAC sheet metal crews on commercial, municipal, and government construction projects.
- Plan daily work activities, assign manpower, and coordinate materials, equipment, and tools.
- Read and interpret mechanical plans, specifications, shop drawings, and HVAC ductwork layouts.
- Oversee fabrication and installation of HVAC ductwork, fittings, supports, hangers, dampers, louvers, and related sheet metal components.
- Lay out duct systems and field installations in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate HVAC work with plumbing, electrical, structural, and other construction trades.
- Verify field dimensions and identify potential conflicts before installation.
- Monitor crew productivity and ensure work is completed according to project schedules and quality requirements.
- Inspect completed work for compliance with plans, specifications, applicable codes, and company standards.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and other field personnel.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, manpower records, material requirements, and progress documentation.
- Enforce APS safety policies, OSHA requirements, and project-specific safety procedures.
- Conduct daily pre-task planning and toolbox/safety meetings as required.
- Train, mentor, and provide direction to HVAC sheet metal journeymen, apprentices, and helpers.
- Identify field issues early and communicate manpower, material, scheduling, or coordination concerns to management.
- Maintain an organized, professional, and productive jobsite.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of commercial HVAC sheet metal experience preferred.
- Previous Foreman or Lead HVAC Sheet Metal experience strongly preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of commercial HVAC ductwork fabrication and installation.
- Ability to read mechanical plans, specifications, details, and shop drawings.
- Knowledge of SMACNA standards and applicable mechanical codes.
- Experience working on commercial, municipal, federal, military, or other government projects is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively manage crews and maintain production schedules.
- Must be safety-conscious and capable of enforcing jobsite safety requirements.
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- OSHA 10/30, lift certifications, and other industry certifications are a plus.
- Must be able to successfully complete project-specific background checks and badging requirements when required.
