We're seeking skilled Stick Welder for a project in DC.
Duration: 4-to-6-month project
Position: Certified 6G Stick Welder
Prevailing Wage Job Site
Monday - Friday
Responsibilities
- Perform stick welding (SMAW) on pipe up to 12 inches in diameter.
- Hold a valid 6G welding certification.
- Verify proper pipe alignment, fit-up, and root gap spacing before welding.
- Ensure all welding work meets applicable project specifications and code requirements.
- Maintain proper weld quality and follow inspection procedures.
- Identify and correct fit-up or welding issues.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and layout instructions
- Follow all safety and quality standards; participate in safety meetings
Qualifications
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
- Physical strength, stamina, and balance for demanding tasks
- Valid 6G Stick Welding (SMAW) certification - Required.
- Demonstrated experience welding carbon steel pipe.
- Strong understanding of welding procedures and code compliance.
- Ability to properly measure, align, and prepare pipe joints.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a construction team.
- OSHA certification or OSHA 10/30 training is a plus.
- Must have PPE and basic tools
