We currently have an opportunity for substitute teachers for all grade levels Kindergarten through High School. Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:
- Provides the instruction to students by following instructional plans and materials and presenting them using instructional techniques which meet the needs of all students.
- Provides an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of students.
- Supervises students in a variety of school-related settings and activities.
- Monitors and evaluates student performance, as/when appropriate.
- Follows all required school procedures and practices.
- Follow lesson plans, assignments, and instructional materials.
- Maintains order and discipline in the classroom conducive to effective learning and takes all necessary safety precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
- Enables each student to achieve learning objectives.
Other functions of the job include but are not limited to the following
- Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a demonstrated commitment to the OCCS Statement of Faith and a continuous exhibition of a desire to minister and serve others in varied capacities.
- Active involvement in a local church.
- Consistent in modeling the qualities of a Christian mentor who embodies the values which create our OCCS culture.
- Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds.
- Encourage parent and community involvement, obtain information for parents when requested, promptly return phone calls and answer emails.
- Participate in appropriate professional activities.
- Participate in extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs and student organizations as directed.
- Other duties as assigned.
