Level 2 Technician - Low Voltage

About the Role
We are seeking experienced Level 2 Technicians to join our team in Charleston, SC. This role is ideal for a skilled low-voltage technician who can work independently on structured cabling, access control, and CCTV projects.
The Level 2 Technician will perform hands-on installation and troubleshooting work while supporting day-to-day field operations. This position will also have the opportunity to step into a Temporary Site Lead role when the Lead Technician is unavailable.
What You'll Do
Structured Cabling
- Install, terminate, label, test, and troubleshoot copper and fiber cabling.
- Perform cable testing and basic certification.
- Follow blueprints, floor plans, and established cable pathways.
- Assist with complex installations and troubleshooting.
- Identify and resolve cabling and connectivity issues in the field.
Access Control
- Install and troubleshoot access control systems.
- Install and troubleshoot card readers, door hardware, request-to-exit (REX) devices, controllers, and related low-voltage equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve field issues with limited supervision.
CCTV
- Install and troubleshoot CCTV cameras and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot low-voltage equipment and systems.
- Identify and resolve installation and connectivity issues.
Site Leadership & Field Support
- Work independently with limited supervision.
- Serve as Temporary Site Lead when the Lead Technician is unavailable.
- Provide direction to technicians and help maintain daily workflow.
- Coordinate daily tasks and communicate jobsite needs, issues, and progress to the Project Manager.
- Provide guidance and assistance to Level 1 Technicians.
- Track material usage and identify material and equipment needs.
- Document completed work, cable IDs, device locations, and testing results.
- Maintain jobsite quality, cleanliness, and organization.
- Ensure work is completed safely and according to project specifications.
- Continue developing technical and leadership skills toward a Level 3 / Lead Technician role.
What We're Looking For
- Commercial low-voltage experience.
- Ability to work independently and troubleshoot field issues.
- Hands-on experience with structured cabling, access control, and CCTV.
- Some previous leadership or crew coordination experience preferred.
- Ability to read and follow blueprints, floor plans, and cable pathways.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
