Municipal contractor seeking skilled Construction Craftsman specializing in concrete and carpentry work to join our vibrant team. Duties
- Interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately execute project specifications.
- Prepare and set up formwork for concrete pours, ensuring proper alignment and stability for durable structures.
- Operate concrete mixers, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently on various construction sites.
- Install rebar reinforcement and perform concrete cutting, pouring, finishing, and sealing to create solid foundations and structures.
- Execute carpentry tasks including form work and framing.
- Follow all workplace safety regulations related to heavy lifting, equipment operation and hazardous materials handling.
- Collaborate with team members on construction site activities to ensure timely completion while maintaining quality standards.
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge of construction tools, equipment, and materials used in concrete and carpentry work.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, construction plans, and technical specifications for accurate execution.
- Strong understanding of concrete forming techniques, rebar installation, and finishing processes.
- Experience with heavy lifting techniques and the operation of heavy machinery safely onsite.
- Knowledge of construction estimating procedures to assist in project planning and resource allocation.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as saws, hammers, drills, levels, trowels, and caulking guns.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately for framing, formwork construction, or restoration projects.
- Commitment to adhering to construction workplace safety regulations at all times.
- Experience working on diverse construction projects including new builds, renovations, restorations, or heavy equipment operation.
