Quality Inspector - Contract to Hire A metal manufacturing company in Billerica, MA is currently seeking for a Quality Inspector to join their team.
Shift of the Quality Inspector: Mon-Thurs 6:00am-4:30pm (optional Fridays when available)
Pay Rate of the Quality Inspector: $28-$35 - based off experience
Responsibilities of the Quality Inspector:- Perform first-article and in-process inspections at multiple manufacturing stages.
- Use precision tools - calipers, micrometers, gauges, test equipment, and CMM - to verify GD&T features, tolerances, and functionality.
- Identify, document and report nonconformities in products and components.
- Maintain complete inspection records, measurements, test results, and corrective action documentation.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Experience with precision measurement and inspection techniques.
- Strong communicator who collaborates effectively across functions.
- Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple inspections.
Requirements of the Quality Inspector:- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Technical training/certification in quality control, inspection, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years in manufacturing inspection, or related roles.
- Knowledge of industry standards and documentation requirements.
- Strong close, distance, and peripheral vision, plus depth perception.
- Manual dexterity for accurate handling and measurement of parts.
- Proficiencies: GD&T, Quality Inspection Experience, Blueprint Reading.
- Equipment: Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), Measurement gauges, Calipers and Micrometers.
