- Highly specialized pediatric cardiac anesthesia assignment
- Typically one surgical patient per day
- Coverage includes CVOR, Cath/EP, and cardiac imaging
- No CRNA supervision or teaching responsibilities
- Temporary or expedited privileges may be available for a clean file
Assignment Details- Start: As soon as credentialed
- Duration: Ongoing
- Setting: Inpatient pediatric cardiac program
- Typical surgical volume: Approximately 1 patient per day
- Additional coverage: Cath/EP lab and cardiac imaging
- 8 operating rooms
- 22 departmental beds
- EMR: Epic
Schedule and Call- Scheduled clinical hours plus beeper call
- Call ratio: Approximately 1:2
- Call response time: 30 minutes
- Call coverage includes assigned and unassigned patients
- Approximately 3 Äì4 patients may be seen during call
- Specific clinical shift hours to be confirmed
Clinical Scope- Full-spectrum pediatric cardiac anesthesia
- Open-heart anesthesia
- Pediatric general anesthesia
- Cath/EP lab anesthesia
- Cardiac imaging anesthesia support
- Spinal anesthesia
- Central-line placement
- Arterial-line placement
- Acute volume and blood-pressure management preferred
- Postoperative epidural, extremity block, and pain-management experience preferred
- Cath-lab-only experience is not sufficient; current CVOR experience is required
Support- 3 RNs
- No CRNA supervision required
- No resident or teaching responsibilities
Requirements- Board certification in Anesthesiology
- Fellowship training required
- Cardiothoracic/cardiac anesthesia training with pediatric cardiac experience
- Active Washington license or IMLC eligibility
- Current ABLS, ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
- Current case logs must be uploaded with the presentation
- Experience providing full-spectrum cardiac care, including CVOR cases
Credentialing- Estimated timeframe: 90 Äì120 days
- Clean files may qualify for expedited privileges
- Temporary privileges available
