Night time Acute Care Physician Assistant needed in Dallas, TX

Methodist Medical Group (MMG) is seeking a full-time nocturnal Acute Care Physician Assistant to join our Critical Care group to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals at Methodist Dallas Medical Center a level 1 trauma center.
This position will consist of caring for high acuity patients in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (trauma and surgical patients), while working alongside Surgery residents, Surgery Attendings, Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, and Pharmacists.
Requirements:
- Must be willing to work Nights (7p-7a)
- Must have at least two (2) years experience
- Must be current in BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certification
- Must have experience assisting with the following procedures:
- Central and arterial line placement
- Bronchoscopies
- Performing complex resuscitation, CPR, etc.
- Intubations/Extubations
Job Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant School
- Current licensure by the Texas Medical Board
Job Responsibilities:
- Nightly coverage for SICU patients with in-house surgery attending and surgery residents
- Responds to trauma activations able to assist primary/secondary survey with implementation of care plans
- Coordinates care with acute care floor patients that may be decompensating
- Manage care of patients including adjusting vent settings and medication changes
- APP communicates with resident and/or attending of any changes in patient conditions
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals
- Places orders for tests, labs and procedures
- Coordinates with other specialties involved with the patient (Neuro, Ortho, Medicine)
- Conduct thorough physical assessment and medical histories of hospitalized patients
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests including imaging studies and laboratory tests
- Provide patient and family education regarding their condition and treatments
- Maintain accurate medical records and follow the standard practices of documentation
- Stay up to date on evidence-based practices relevant to hospital medicine and follow hospital-based protocols
