- Start: As soon as credentialed
- Coverage: Ongoing
- Initial commitment: 3 Äì6 months
- Scheduled clinical hours plus beeper call
- Inpatient and outpatient settings
- Approximately 10 patients per shift
- Cerner EMR
- Hospital privileges required
- No temporary privileges available
- Estimated credentialing timeframe: 90 days
Clinical Responsibilities- Assist cardiovascular surgeons in the operating room
- Round on assigned hospital patients
- Provide clinic coverage as needed
- Manage predominantly vascular surgery clinic visits
- Provide cardiothoracic postoperative follow-up care
- Collaborate with five APPs, five RNs, and supporting office staff
Call Details- At least one weekend of call per month
- Beeper call
- Call rotation: Approximately 1:5
- Required response time: 20 minutes
- Estimated callback rate: 15%
- Approximately two phone consults and two patients seen during call
Requirements- Certified or board-eligible Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, as applicable
- Cardiothoracic, cardiovascular, or vascular surgery experience
- Active Montana NP or PA license required before the assignment begins
- Active BLS certification
- Ability to obtain hospital privileges
- Comfortable assisting in the OR, rounding, providing clinic coverage, and taking weekend call
- Able to commit for at least 3 Äì6 months
