We are looking for a motivated and dependable person with experience to join our team as a Pharmacy Tech!
Job Title: Pharmacy Technician
The pharmacy technician will assist the pharmacist in the areas of prescription filling, prescription distribution and clerical activities while under the pharmacists supervision. Must be able to provide courteous, and prompt service, and a friendly atmosphere.
Primary Responsibilities & Accountabilities
• Assist in the preparation of prescriptions including entering patient information and prescription orders into the computer for processing.
• Assist the pharmacist in filling prescriptions by pulling stock, pouring, counting, restocking, packaging, labeling, and pricing the prescription.
• Keeping the Pharmacy work area clean, orderly, and free from safety hazards; report hazards to store management.
• Courteously answering the phone.
• Assist the pharmacist in the preparation, reconciliation, and billing of third-party insurance claims and in the re-billing of rejected third-party claims.
• Assist in checking and removing out-of-date product as instructed by the pharmacist.
• Order, receive, rotate, and store product to ensure quality controls.
• Maintain confidentiality in compliance with federal HIPAA regulations.
• Organize and file records.
• Perform price checks for customers and associates, as needed.
• Operate the cashier terminal, credit card machine, and electronic signature capture device.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Minimum
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.
• Must be registered with the Board of Pharmacy in Mississippi.
• Treat others with respect and dignity.
• Compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Preferred
• Possess good telephone skills and complete cashier training.
• Possess and exercise good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Working knowledge of the Rx30 Pharmacy Software
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Schedule:
• Day shift
- Monday through Friday - usually 6-8-hour shifts any time between 9 a.m. and 6:30 pm,
- Saturdays - 8-hour shift
- Closed on Sundays
Experience:
• Pharmacy Technician Experience: 1 year
License/Certification:
• Pharmacy Technician Certification
