Forklift Operator

The Translucent Solar Material Handler is responsible for safely and efficiently receiving, moving, staging, loading, unloading, and organizing translucent solar materials and related components throughout the manufacturing facility. This position supports production by ensuring materials are available when needed while maintaining product quality, accurate inventory, and a clean and safe work environment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safely handle, move, and stage translucent solar materials, panels, components, and packaging materials.
• Load and unload materials from trucks, pallets, racks, carts, and production areas.
• Supply production lines with the correct materials according to work orders and production schedules.
• Inspect materials for visible damage, defects, contamination, or incorrect quantities.
• Properly label, identify, and organize materials in designated storage locations.
• Maintain accurate material movement and inventory records using paper documentation or computer-based systems.
• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, or other approved equipment as authorized.
• Follow proper procedures when handling fragile, oversized, or specialty solar materials to prevent damage.
• Communicate material shortages, damaged products, or inventory discrepancies to supervisors.
• Assist with packaging, wrapping, securing, and preparing materials for shipment or internal transfer.
• Maintain organized work areas and follow housekeeping standards.
• Follow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and manufacturing procedures.
• Participate in quality, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous material handling, warehouse, manufacturing, or production experience.
• Forklift experience or certification is a plus.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, labels, production schedules, and safety procedures.
• Basic computer and inventory-system skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately identify and handle different materials.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Manufacturing or solar industry experience is a plus.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to repeatedly lift, carry, push, and pull materials within the requirements of the position.
• Ability to safely handle fragile and/or large materials.
• Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and work in various positions as required.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, including exposure to moving equipment and varying temperatures.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
