Picture starting your shift with a walkthrough of the molding cell: you verify safety conditions and PPE, review the previous shift's notes in the maintenance tracking system, and bring machines online. You manage mold changes, dial in parameters, and balance cavitation (optimal use of each cavity) - freezing off cavities only when needed to keep production on pace. Throughout the shift you troubleshoot issues, escalate mold or equipment concerns to maintenance quickly, and keep the area organized and clean. Before handoff, you document the work you performed so the next shift can run smoothly.
Compensation & schedule
- Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour, plus a $0.50/hour night shift differential; paid weekly (based on experience)
- Available shifts:
- 1st Shift: 7:00am-3:00pm
- 2nd Shift: 3:00pm-11:00pm
- 3rd Shift: 11:00pm-7:00am
What you'll do
- Work safely at all times, follow company safety policies, and wear required PPE; maintain situational awareness and promptly alert a Supervisor or Manager to safety concerns.
- Keep your work area clean and organized and perform standard shift cleaning on production equipment.
- Once trained/certified, operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and related material-handling equipment.
- Execute mold changes efficiently.
- Start up and shut down injection molding machines and associated support equipment (conveyors, stackers, automation).
- Maintain proper cavitation or freeze off cavities as directed to sustain production.
- Troubleshoot molding issues and collaborate with maintenance to resolve machine or mold problems quickly.
- Document standard processes and work performed in the facility's maintenance tracking system to ensure cross-shift continuity.
- Complete assigned training courses satisfactorily and support other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent with technical training.
- Ability to work overtime as required, including weekends.
- 2+ years in a manufacturing setting preferred.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Clear, effective communication in English (written and verbal) and basic computer skills for documentation.
- Physical capability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, climb stairs/ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfort working in a typical manufacturing environment with seasonal heat/cold and production noise; able to wear task-appropriate PPE.
