Job Description Job Description We are seeking a Kitchen Manager to oversee daily food service operations, staff supervision, menu execution, and regulatory compliance. The Kitchen Manager will ensure safe, nutritious meals are prepared and served to students while managing inventory, budgets, and sanitation standards.

Core Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation & Service: Supervise and participate in cooking, portioning, and serving daily breakfast and lunch menus according to scheduled plans.
  • Staff Supervision: Hire, train, schedule, and evaluate cafeteria and kitchen workers while assigning daily tasks.
  • Inventory & Ordering: Track food and supply stock, place vendor orders, check in deliveries, and perform regular inventory counts.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce HACCP protocols, monitor holding and cooking temperatures, and maintain strict sanitation standards.
  • Record Keeping: Track daily student meal counts, handle cash/POS reconciliation, and complete required district or federal reports.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent (culinary or hospitality training is a plus).
  • Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience in commercial food service or school nutrition management.
