Technologist Responsibilities:
- Cardiology and Peripheral Vascular Practice. Most common procedures will be cardiac stress SPECT and PET Stress studies
- Using new Omni Legend Scanner to capture diagnostic images.
- QA and other technical functions
- Appropriately positioning patients to scan specific areas of their bodies.
- Sterilizing radiologic equipment to ensure the safety of patients.
- Correctly interpreting doctors' written scanning instructions.
- Administering radio contrast agents and radiopharmaceuticals to patients to enhance the visibility of internal organs and tissues.
- Evaluating CT and Nuclear Medicine scans to determine whether they are of good technical quality.
- Explaining scanning procedures to patients and providing reassurance and support as required.
- Other requirements in the normal duties of a PET technician or nuclear medicine technician.
Requirements:
- Certified by an appropriate organization AART, NMTCB, etc.
- Licensed in Florida to perform SPECT and PET studies.
- CPR and BLS certification.
- Start basic IV lines.
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- Strong technical skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills
