Job Description
D-Skilled Staffing LLC is currently seeking a dependable and experienced Sit-Down Forklift Operator / Metal Fabrication Shop Hand for a full-time manufacturing opportunity.
We are looking for a motivated individual with hands-on sit-down forklift experience who can assist with material handling, grinding, deburring, and general metal fabrication operations.
IMPORTANT: Sit-down forklift experience is REQUIRED. This position involves frequent material movement throughout a metal fabrication shop, in addition to hands-on production duties.
Job Responsibilities
- Safely operate a sit-down forklift to load, unload, transport, and organize metal materials throughout the facility.
- Use pallet jacks and other material-handling equipment as needed.
- Grind, deburr, and finish fabricated metal parts to remove sharp edges and surface defects.
- Assist with assembling and fabricating metal products using hand tools and power tools.
- Assist laser machine operators with loading and unloading materials.
- Count finished parts, verify quantities, and prepare orders for packing.
- Pack finished products into boxes or onto skids according to work requirements.
- Maintain an organized and safe work area.
- Follow all plant safety rules, forklift operating procedures, and manufacturing guidelines.
- Assist with additional production and shop duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Previous sit-down forklift operating experience required.
- Forklift certification or documented operator training required.
- Experience safely loading, unloading, and moving materials using industrial forklifts.
- Ability to operate basic hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to lift and handle materials weighing 50 lbs. or more, within safe handling procedures.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and awareness of workplace safety.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Dependable attendance and reliable transportation.
- Availability to work Monday-Friday, 5:30 AM-2:00 PM.
Preferred Experience
- Metal fabrication or manufacturing shop experience.
- Grinding, deburring, and metal finishing.
- Basic mechanical assembly.
- Experience handling metal sheets or fabricated components.
- Familiarity with laser cutting operations.
- Material handling, packing, and shipping preparation.
Pay and Schedule
Pay: $16.00-$18.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 5:30 AM-2:00 PM.
Shift: First Shift Full-Time
