Riverside Engineering is seeking a motivated and experienced Mechanical CAD Designer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will support the design and development of equipment and systems for the scrap metal recycling industry, creating detailed parts, assemblies, and technical documentation using SolidWorks.
We are looking for a driven, hands-on professional who enjoys solving problems, collaborating with team members, and turning concepts into practical manufacturing solutions. DUTIES
Design and develop parts, assemblies, and equipment using SolidWorks, creating detailed mechanical drawings and 3D models for product development.
Create and maintain engineering drawings, bills of materials, and product documentation.
Support product development projects from concept through manufacturing.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to ensure designs meet project requirements.
Conduct tolerance analysis and mechanical drafting to ensure precision and manufacturability of components.
Assist with troubleshooting, product improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure designs comply with company standards, safety requirements, and applicable industry guidelines.
Support efforts to improve product quality, reliability, and manufacturing efficiency.
Skills
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field, or equivalent experience. (GED minimum).
Experience with industrial equipment, manufacturing, or heavy machinery is a plus.
Experience with mechanical design and CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
Strong knowledge of mechanical product development processes, including 3D modeling for product design and mechanical detail drawings.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
