Pittsburgh area CPA/Financial Consulting firm is in need of an experienced candidate for the role of Manager/Financial Services. The selected candidate will oversee multiple audit engagements, manages client relationships, and ensures the delivery of high-quality financial reporting and advisory services.
Duties to include:
Lead multiple financial statement audit engagements, ensuring quality, compliance, and timely completion across all stages of the audit process.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing relationships and delivering proactive communication, technical guidance, and value-added insights.
Oversee and review the work of supervisors and staff accountants, providing feedback, mentorship, and coaching to develop their technical expertise and leadership skills.
Take responsibility for assigned direct reports - ensuring their professional growth, utilization, and adherence to firm values and expectations.
Provide strategic management by monitoring budgets, optimizing staffing, and using data to analyze engagement performance and identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement.
Contribute strategically to departmental meetings by analyzing performance metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement, and advancing key department initiatives
Lead quarterly initiatives that support both departmental and firm goals and align with future planning
Conduct high-level technical reviews of financial statements, disclosures, and complex accounting matters to ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
Partner with firm leadership to set and achieve department goals, including contributing to process improvements, training initiatives, and strategic planning.
Play an active role in advancing departmental growth by collaborating with firm leadership on client relationship management, strategic initiatives, and market awareness efforts.
Collaborate with the firm's Sales and Marketing team to identify and develop new ideas, articles, webinars, and other thought leadership opportunities that elevate the firm's visibility in the postsecondary education industry.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support clients and the firm.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or working towards CPA is strongly preferred
5+ years of progressive experience in public accounting with demonstrated success leading audit engagements and overseeing professional staff.
Strong understanding of GAAP, auditing standards, and financial reporting requirements.
Proven ability to manage multiple engagements and teams simultaneously while maintaining high quality standards.
Experience supervising, coaching, and developing staff, with an emphasis on leadership and performance management.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and audit software applications.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels.
Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to balance competing priorities.
