Overview:
We are seeking General Medicine Providers to perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams + Separation Health Assessments across the country.
Assignment Details:
- Duration: PRN basis, ongoing
- Specialties Accepted: Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or anyone with a background in general medicine or experience with compensation and pension
- Coverage Options: Two options available - Travel and perform exams at VES leased facility and/or schedule Veterans within your own practice
- Shift Options: Half days (4-hours) and/or full days (8-hours)
- Exam Type: One-time non-treatment C&P exams + separation health assessments
- Exam Format: Primarily interview-based with some physical assessment including range of motion testing and muscle strength testing
- Prescribing/Treatment: No prescribing or treatment involved
- Credentialing: Quick credentialing & onboarding process
- Certification: DMA certification available (can get CME credits) will need to obtain once privileged if not already certified
- Equipment: Use of Goniometer required
- Expertise Required: Familiarity with Musculoskeletal, Diabetes, and Cardio conditions. Proficiency in METs testing, evaluating, and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions.
- Technology: Own personal laptop (NO MACs) required for completing evaluations and submitting Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs)
- Reporting: DBQs must be submitted within 48 hours upon exam completion - no narrative report. End product is completion of standardized form(s).
- Record Review: Required in most cases
- Follow-up Administrative Work: Addendums, medical opinions, and reading diagnostics will be required on a regular basis
